The embarrassing moment when Johnny appears half naked in “Private Resort”, 32 years ago… 😳

😳

After “A
Nightmare on Elm Street
”, Johnny saw that the movie industry really could give
him some money to bringing for his family and pay his rent. So, even though he was still held onto his dream of being a musician, he kept
studying to develop his acting, kept trying to make something new and with that he was able to play in a ten-minute student film named “Dummies”. After that Johnny was not waiting for any movie when he had the chance to play in “Private Resort” and even though he doesn’t even wanted, he accepted, and never regret it.

We all know that the movie is pretty bad, and Johnny also spoke a little about:

“I made some sh*tty movies when
I was first starting out, but I’m not embarrassed by them, especially as I
didn’t think I was going to be an actor. I was trying to make some money – I
was still a musician.”

“It was a stupid film. It was a teen kind of exploitation, tits and ass and basic filthiness. What the f*ck did I care? I had no aspirations”

"Sure (Private Resort) sucks bad, but it was a job, and I was struck again by the fact that I was being paid well
to go to Florida and f*ck around for a couple of months. I certainly wasn’t
complaining at the time.“

Ps 1: I edited the photos with “Cry Baby” stickers to make it funnier and also avoid to be deleted.

THIS was my reaction watching Johnny half naked in a movie for the first time:

😲

😂 😂

What are your thoughts about this movie?

The Adventures of Johnny and Rob Morrow in “Private Resort” (1985)

Although

Johnny doesn’t like to watch
his own movies, at that time, Rob Morrow and he were so curious about how was
the movie after done, that they make up a plan to watch the movie during a test screening for a selected audience. Years later Rob revealed how it was:

“Nobody affiliated with the film
could go, but Depp and I heard about it and wanted to see it. So we dressed up
in the weirdest possible way. We had these dorky glasses on and a knit hat; and
I put cotton in my mouth so my face puffed out. We walked right past the
executives who knew us.”

After that Johnny and Rob swore a pact to track
down and destroy every copy wherever they find one. Too bad it became digital…

– “This is the place to be. We have 4 days here. It’s unbelievable. I’m dreaming” – Jack

34 years
ago, today (May 3), “Private Resort”, premiered in the USA. The comedy movie
was the third in a series of comic “teen sex romps” from producer R. Ben Efraim,
each of which had the word “Private” in the title. The previous two movies were
“Private Lessons” and “Private School” and have no connection between them. Screened
in only 102 theaters throughout the USA (the only country where it was
screened) it used to have a publicity that promised that the movie would
provide beaches, surf and “The wildest party of your life”, but in
reality none of it actually happens in the movie that became a critical and
commercial disaster.
In this movie Johnny plays Jack, a teenage boy on a vacation with his friend in
Miami spending the free days chasing attractive woman in a resort.

> Synopsis:

Jack and
Ben, respectively, teen buddies who are on the sexual prowl for beautiful,
wealthy girls at a posh Miami resort where they are weekend guests. Also on the
prowl is The Maestro (Hector Elizondo),
a skilled jewel thief who is pursuing the diamond necklace of society woman
Amanda Rawlings (Dody Goodman). When
they accidentally run afoul of the Maestro, Ben and Jack suddenly got into a plenty
of trouble.

> Curiosities:

* This was Johnny’s second movie in
his career and the first as lead character. This is also considered one of the worst of his movies.

* None of the movie’s actors were on the official poster. Johnny only had a poster with his photo, more than 20 years later, when the movie was released in DVD.

* Johnny was in early 20’s, playing a
teenage boy.

* Although the movie was screened
on theaters, released in VHS, DVD and Digitally on the original uncensored
version, when the movie was screened in some TV channels it had a slightly edited version: While the uncensored version  used to be aired late at night or past
midnight, a Censored Version for TV used to have a lot of cutting deleting all the nudity, in some cases it had to be zoomed or blurred when the scenes couldn’t be cut, and long scenes had to be cut short, like Johnny taking off his clothes. Due to it, the movie is a little bit shorter, with a little bit more than an hour.

* In this movie Johnny plays a character that he never repeated again. He’s a classic teenager in puberty throughout the entire movie and the closest we’d see would of a “womanizer” character, would be “Don Juan DeMarco”.

* There’s also a lot of nudity in this movie. Most of them are the cheesy (and shameful) woman objectification from the 80’s in tight small bikinis, or showing their breasts. Also, this is one of the few Rated-R/ +16/+18 movies with Johnny, and  the only where you can see him wearing the shortest shorts ever and half-naked (Both he and Rob Morrow didn’t even wear genital guard) for a couple of seconds. The closest to it only repeated when Johnny featured on Marilyn Manson’s Kill4Me video.
